Mark’s story of achievement from a diagnosis of dyscalculia and lack of support in school to becoming an advocate for adult education.
“This is a film about my journey in education. It connects my past to my present, from primary school to secondary school to third level and all the challenges I faced in the Irish education system without educational support and the difficulties of finding a job. My unhappiness at home and how I returned to education as an adult and became an ambassador for lifelong learning.”
Mark Daly, ambassador for lifelong learning.
What would be some helpful accommodations looking back to help you in middle school for the maths daily? I am trying to find the most for my daughter with a 504 to help her.
more patient teachers, better understanding of Learning differences…
I am an adult looking to further my education for some qualifications, and have been having Maths lessons for this purpose. After some time my teacher has said she is convinced I have dyscalculia (which may explain why I have so struggled with it all my life) and I am keen to try to get tested for it as an adult so that I can have a formal diagnosis and this would in turn help me get some accommodations for my qualification exams, as well as help me to work out how to get more help. I am in the EU.
Where would I be able to find someone to test and diagnose me in the EU- any suggestions, thank you folks.
